April 6, 1943_"Avenger" Takes Off-- At a Southwestern Pacific base, a U.S. Navy TBF plane--a Grumman "Avenger"--takes to the air to do battle with the enemy.

Christmas Bullet
Flexible Wing, Strutless Biplane. Speed 200 MPH. Takes off and lands at approximately 55 MPH.  200 HP., 6 cylinder motor. The only machine in the word build on the principal of true bird flight. .... and design by Dr. Wm. W. Christmas.

Four-Motored Transport
"The pilots' compartment in the Huge four-motored, all-metal "Superskyliner" being built for TWA by the Boeing Aircraft Company, Seattle, Wash., is said by pilots who have seen it to be the most efficient and simplest ever designed.
Triplicate gyroscopic flight instruments are provided, while all other instruments are in duplicate.
Immediately to the right is the radio installation, most modern ever made.
Eight different receivers will be provided. With the full-scale "mockup" model just approved by T.W.A., The factory will begin immediate construction. The giant liners will be flying the famous Sky Sheif schedules this summer.

New York... these thirty-six planes (count them) were the fore-runners of more than 600 more which hummed down the Hudson to successfully save the great city of New York from make-believe enemy.More than one hundred thousand Gothamites witnesses the stirring spectacle.
